assessment is a detailed look at an individual’s strengths
Through the use of standardized tests, informal tasks and observation,
information is obtained about the individual’s cognitive,
memory, language, attention, visual-spatial and motor skills.
The assessment also provides information on the individual’s
academic skills such as reading, writing, spelling and math. There
is also an opportunity to observe motivation, energy, learning style,
frustration level and self-confidence.
assessment itself is done over two mornings;
one session spent testing the psychological factors and the other
one focusing on the academic skills.
Following the assessment, a third meeting is set to explain and
discuss the test results.
A written report is also given to the client or the client’s
caretakers following the appointments.
This report also contains recommendations for the teachers, parents
as well as the client.
