We are happy to announce that, once again this year, a reading program is offered at The Learning Associates of Montreal.

In the Intensive Summer Reading Program, Students receive intensive reading remediation for two and a half hours every morning for a period of three consecutive weeks.

Each reading group is comprised of 3-4 teachers and 4 students.

This year we are planning for a total of 12 students from grades 1-6.

The 2010 Intensive Summer Reading Program will be available in English and French, and will be addressing students who either have been assessed by the school as having a reading disability or whose reading is lagging behind that of their classmates.

The three-week English program will be running from August 2
to August 20, 2010. The two-week French program will be running from August 2 to 13, 2010.

Our program is designed to meet the needs of students with a number of the following difficulties:

- reads inaccurately

- reads slowly and hesitantly

- becomes fatigued when reading

- has a weak vocabulary for everyday words

- doesn’t spell well

- doesn’t recognize common words

- cannot identify his/her own errors

If you know a child who would benefit from taking part in this intensive summer reading remediation program, please contact Sharron or Effie at (514) 989-9360.

We would be happy to discuss this further with you.

Please note that there will be a reading screening for each child in order to accurately evaluate their reading profile and suitability for the Intensive Summer Reading Program.

We always do our best to help every child with a reading disability but we cannot automatically ensure your child’s placement in this program.

Appointment required for screening.
