Joint Project Between The Visual Arts Centre and The Learning Associates of Montreal

Through a grant made available by Mrs. Edith Low-Beer, The Learning Associates of Montreal and The Visual Arts Centre have just completed their 15th school year of holding a ceramics workshop for at-risk teens. Under the art direction of Eva Lapka, with the help of Paula Cook as the therapist/liaison person, the program provides a therapeutic environment for students who are continually confronted with social and academic difficulties. This program provides them with a safe place to feel successful and be creative. The students are selected from Vanguard school and internal referrals from the Learning Associates of Montreal staff.
